STSRG Attends the 99th TRB Annual Meeting

All members of the STSRG were able to attend the 99th Annual Meeting of the Transportation Research Board, held January 12-16 in Washington, D.C.   The TRB Annual Meeting is attended by over 10,000 transportation professionals every year and serves as one of the largest forums to present and discuss research and current developments in the science and practice of transportation engineering.  The members of STSRG were able to attend lectures and poster sessions given by representatives of organizations around the world and gain valuable insight into the work of other transportation researchers in addition to making valuable connections with others in academia and industry.

Three of our students were able to present their own work at poster sessions throughout the week. Zimo Zhang presented a poster entitled An Agent-Based Simulation Model of Autonomous Vehicles Based on CTPP Commuting Data.  Theodora Konstantinou presented a poster entitled Dynamic Wireless Charging for Electric Vehicles: Technology Overview and Impact on Emissions. Lisa Losada Rojas presented a poster entitled Market Acceptance of Autonomous Vehicles in Transportation Disadvantaged Areas: Implications for Policy.

In addition, Theodora was able to accept in person the Charley V. Wootan Memorial Award, given by the Council of University Transportation Centers (CUTC) for the best thesis/dissertation the field of transportation policy and planning. She won for her master's thesis, entitled  Market Adoption and Impacts of Electric Roadways on Criteria Pollutants and Greenhouse Gas Emissions.

We look forward to attending the 100th Annual Meeting in 2021!
