Lisa Losada Rojas accepted to MIT's CEE Rising Stars and Purdue's LATinE faculty workshops

STSRG member and Ph.D. Candidate Lisa Losada-Rojas has been accepted to two prestigious faculty workshops: the Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) Rising Stars at MIT and Latinx Trailblazers in Engineering at Purdue.

The CEE Rising Stars workshop is designed for early-career researchers who share the experience of being a womxn and/or being coded as a womxn in academia. This workshop invites top early-career womxn in CEE and related domains (e.g., materials, systems, or environmental science) who are interested in careers in academia. The event will bring together the next generation of CEE academic leaders for two days of scientific interactions and career-oriented discussions.

LATinE is an initiative intended to increase the number and success of Latinx/Hispanic engineering faculty in the US, who in turn, will blaze new trails with new discoveries, innovations, and social impact and serve as role models for the next generation of engineers. The goal of the LATinE program at Purdue Engineering is to prepare future trailblazing faculty in engineering with a focus on preparing outstanding scholars who are also committed to increasing the success of Latinx engineers.

Not to forget that Lisa has been awarded, among others, the 2021-2022 Bilsland Dissertation Fellowship.

We are proud of you, Lisa!
