Jonathan Perilla-Novoa Presents His Work as a Visiting Scholar in STSRG at the UREP-C & Go Boiler: Final Symposium
Jonathan Perilla-Novoa, a participant of the Undergraduate Research Experience Purdue-Colombia (UREP-C) program, presented his research at the UREP-C & Go Boiler: Final Symposium, held on Wednesday and Thursday, January 29 and 30, 2025, at Purdue University. His presentation, titled "Transportation Solutions for Indiana: Trip Generation and Sustainable Infrastructure," explored trip generation models for e-commerce, sustainable road infrastructure development, and the role of carbon markets in transportation.
His work contributed to ongoing projects sponsored by the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) within the Sustainable Transportation Systems Research Group (STSRG). Through his research, he examined the impact of online shopping on travel demand, the integration of sustainability in road infrastructure, and opportunities for Indiana to engage in carbon credit markets. At the same time, his participation in the symposium fostered discussions on data-driven approaches in transportation planning and the intersection of environmental and economic considerations in infrastructure development, which, in turn, strengthens the Colombia Purdue Partnership and promotes international collaboration in research and innovation.
