Gaia successfully defends her PhD dissertation

Gaia Cervini successfully defended her PhD in Civil and Construction Engineering at Purdue University. Her dissertation, “Temperature as a System Constraint in Transportation Electrification: Vehicle Adoption, Infrastructure Performance, and Thermal Measurement,” investigates how temperature influences both electric vehicle adoption and the performance of emerging electrified infrastructure. Her work combines geospatial analysis, remote sensing, and unmanned aerial systems (UAS) to develop scalable methods for evaluating the thermal behavior of dynamic wireless power transfer (DWPT) roadways and identifying climate-related barriers to transportation electrification.
