Mission Statement
Our research focuses on develop functional nanomaterials/devices with tunable (mechanical, electrical, thermal, and optical) properties, to enable energy harvesting and advanced sensing technology. Fundamentally we study electron, phonon and photon transport mechanisms in a given materials system, and design the materials, devices and systems to meet targeted performance.
We have three major research areas, including thermoelectric and piezoelectric materials and devices for energy harvesting and sensing, crystal growth of oxides for optoelectrical devices, and multifunctional nanocomposites /building materials.
