Wikum Bandara named a 2026 American Society of Nephrology (ASN) Kidney STARS Award recipient
Congratulations to Wikum Bandara who was selected for the American Society of Nephrology's Kidney STARS program. This is a recognition that supports early-career researchers attending ASN Kidney Week.
The award provides $1,500 in travel support and complimentary registration for the in-person Annual Meeting at ASN Kidney Week 2026 in Denver, Colorado.
Wikum's work investigates the role of bone water as a potential new imaging biomarker in kidney disease thereby extending the QBIS Lab's quantitative imaging tools toward the skeletal changes that accompany altered mineral metabolism.
