Research

Are you a Purdue student who is interested in doing research? If so, check out the opportunities below!

The Spring 2024 Research Symposium happend on February 29th from 6 - 8 PM. Look for more information on the Fall 2024 Research Symposium after August!

If you are interested in doing research at Purdue, or other locations, fill out the forms located here.

The deadline to apply for ME research for the Fall 2024 semester was March 8th, 2024. Thank you to all who applied. A link will be emailed to those who applied on April 1st to allow them to accept/decline offers.

To see the research opportunities in the Mechanical Engineering department and apply to them, visit research opportunities page of the ME website. If you would like to do ME research over the Summer, the application date is from April 16th through April 28th.

If doing research during the academic semester does not interest you or you are more interested in conducting research over the summer, look no further than the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF). Current SURF applications for Summer 2024 were due by February 1st, 2024.

If you are interested in doing research or working in industry internationally, you can apply to Global Engineering Alliance for Research and Education (GEARE). This program integrates language study, work and research experiences, cultural training and more into the 4-year Engineering curriculum.

If interested in longer term research the Vertically Integrated Projects (VIP) program might be right for you. VIP offers an opportunity for undergraduate students to earn academic credit while engaging in research and design projects on vertically-integrated teams (first-year through seniors) over multiple semesters.

If instead, you are a student at Purdue looking to publish a paper or get an understanding of the research paper process, look no further than the Journal of Purdue Undergraduate Research, a place where entry level Purdue researchers can publish their papers and others can learn about how to write a research paper.

If instead of research, you are interested in getting some hands-on experience, check out EPICS where you can learn the basis of design while also building something to help the community around you.
