Lab and Facilities

We are located in the Martin C. Jischke Hall of Biomedical Engineering at 206 South Martin Jischke Drive on the Purdue University West Lafayette Campus across rooms MJIS 3062, 2083, 2083b, and 3083c:

  • Rapid prototyping - ULS 40W laser cutter, BioDot xyz3060 Dispensing system,  Xerox wax-ink printer, Silhouette cutter plotter, Herrick oxygen plasma cleaner, Carver heated hydraulic press, Clairmont Bio lateral flow striper, 6' fume hood, Circuit design/build station, 6-channel Bio-Logic VSP-300 potentiostat, 2 high temperature ovens
  • Imaging - Azure U600 with UV/VIS, fluorescent and NIR imaging systems, Epson V850 flatbed scanner, AxioObserver Z1 inverted epifluorescent microscope with high speed CCD
  • Molecular biology - Applied Biosystems Quant Studio 5 and ABI-7500 real-time PCR instruments, gel electrophoresis and Western blot, SpeedVac refrigerated vacuum centrifuge, VirTis Advantage Pro Benchtop Lyophilizer, Nanodrop 2000c UV/Vis spectrophotomety
  • BLS2 level bacterial culture facility - 6' A2 Biosafety cabinet, CO2 incubator, Baterial culture incubator, Eppendorf 5424 refrigerated centrifuge, -20oC freezer and -4oC refrigerator

Additionally, we have access to shared equipment with adjacent labs led by Dr. Tamara Kinzer-Ursem, Dr. Leo Green, and the Laboratory of Implanted Microsystems Research led by Dr. Hugh Lee, rapid prototyping support from the BME Machine Shop, and convenient access to core facilities including reel-to-reel manufacturing, screen printing, and conductive inkjet printing across the street in Discovery Park within the Birck Nanotechnology Center, Bindley Bioscience Center, and Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship.
