PhD Candidate
I am a PhD student in Industrial Engineering, interested mainly in the operation of wholesale electricity markets. My current research focuses on improving and expanding the coordination of market clearing processes among interconnected transmission systems using distributed optimization techniques. I earned my bachelor's degree in electromechanical engineering from the Technological University of Panama (Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá), and have two master's degrees in ECE from the University of Arizona and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I have worked as a power systems engineer for a distribution company and as a transmission system operator. I have also worked extensively as a consultant for entities participating in financial transmission rights markets and electricity markets in general.
PhD Candidate
I am a PhD student in School of Industrial Engineering at Purdue University. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Modern Physics from University of Science and Technology of China. My research focuses on designing distributed optimization algorithms for large-scale optimization problems with applications to games, statistical machine learning and energy systems.
PhD Student
I am a second-year PhD student in the School of Industrial Engineering. My research interests are designing blockchains and trading algorithms for the decentralized energy market.
PhD Student
I have been a PhD student in the School of Industrial Engineering at Purdue University since 2013. My research interests focus on decentralized decision-making through regret-based learning for price-driven demand response in smart grid under game frameworks. During my PhD studies, I have done internships at NEC labs, ISO New England, and Midcontinent ISO. I also obtained a Master's degree in Computer Science and Statistics in 2018, respectively.
