Violet B. Haas was an electrical engineering professor who played a critical role in establishing the Purdue chapter of the Society of Women Engineers. This comeptitive fellowship supports junior female faculty with children in science and engineering and the funds associated are meant for use in training and supporting the next generation of undergraduate researchers as they launch their careers.

The awardees for 2022 are Dr. Deva Chan and Dr. Neera Jain (mechanical engineering).

Dr. Chan will be presented this award at the Butler Center's Violet Haas Award, Leadership in Action Awards, and Research Project Grant Awards Reception in the PMU Anniversary Drawing Room on December 7, 2021.
