Ayan Sengupta’s year as a SERB fellow focusing on transcritical CO2 pressure exchangers concludes

This week concluded Ph.D. Student Ayan Sengupta's year long stay as a SERB Fellow with our group.

He successfully developed a transcritical CO2 pressure exchanger test section and carried out extensive, high-frequency measurements at pressure differentials approaching 70 bar. The target application is supermarkets, where recovery of expansion work in transcritical CO2 refrigeration systems has significant potential for reducing energy consumption.

It was great to have Ayan visit from his home institution, Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, in India and we also appreciated the support of his advisor, Prof. M.S. Dasgupta.
