Welcome Prof. Brian D. O. Anderson

Prof. Brian D. O. Anderson will visit AIMS Lab from Dec. 2, 2018 to Dec.9.  The PI Shaoshuai Mou has collaborated with Brian since 2008 when Shaoshuai was in his first-year Ph.D. study in Steve's group at Yale. Collaboration with Brian has been very productive and enjoyable.

Short Bio of Brian: In addition to being a Distinguished Professor at the Australian National University (ANU) , Prof. Anderson is a member of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) in the USA and has recently been recognized in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list and a building was named in his honor  at ANUProfessor Anderson is a research pioneer in many engineering fields including adaptive systems, sensor networks, optimal control and many other areas. His research has had significant impact on many scientists and engineers in the world as evidenced by his Google scholar h-index of 103 and 60509 citations.  His research contribution has been internationally recognized by many prestigious awards. To name a few, he is a recipient of the  IEEE Control Systems Society Bode Prize (1992),  the IEEE Control Systems Award (1997),  the IFAC Quazza Medal (1999),  the IEEE James H Mulligan Jr. Education Medal (2001), the IEEE Guillemin-Cauer Award (2001), and   the American Automatic Control Council John R. Ragazzini Education Award (2016).
