My name is Narayan Iyer, and I graduated from Purdue University in Dec 2016 with an AAE degree. I was a member of Sigma Gamma Tau at the time. 

I am writing to inform you that I have started a clean energy engineering company in Iowa, called Laminar Technologies LLC, based on two inventions that are currently patent pending. The idea allows energy extraction from ocean waves, and I have obtained funding to support simulation, feasibility test and improvement activities. Therefore, I am hoping to hire two interns as listed below:

• Simulation and Design Engineering Intern
  • Simulate our technology for continuous testing and improvements
  • Preferred tool: Ansys (can be discussed)
  • Remote Work
  • $20-$33/hr based on seniority (Junior, Senior, Grad etc) and skill experience
• Prototype and Test Engineering Intern
• Onsite work, with covid-19 restrictions in place
  • Willing to work in Cedar Rapids IA for 2-3 months
  • Travel to CR and housing stipend provided
  • The lab is a dedicated section of my residence at this point, but this may move to a warehouse soon.
• Build a working miniature model and test setup
• Take measurements and analyze feasibility
•  $20-$33/hr based on seniority (Junior, Senior, Grad etc) and skill experience

Both jobs will be part time, with flexible hours to support school work. An average of 15-20 hours a week is expected.

New hires will be required to sign an NDA to protect Laminar's IP. I want to emphasize that excellent performance and team dynamics will likely be reviewed for membership interest in the LLC or future Inc; in other words, we need brilliant engineers to be part owners of this company. Other incentives include recommendation letters, point of reference etc.
