Resilient Aerospace Systems Spring 2027
Resilient Aerospace Systems Spring 2027
This Spring 2027, I will be running a small research course with a theme of Resilient Aerospace Systems. In this course, we will learn how to read research articles critically (an essential part of any research project) and then how to formulate our own strong arguments that are free of the logical fallacies that plague so much of what we read (and write!). We will be reading a series of articles on aerospace systems, with students presenting articles to the class, along with their assessment of the research and how it is presented. This course will be a prerequisite for doing undergraduate research in my group.
Enrollment is limited to 15 students, so that we can have lively and fully engaged group discussions. We will meet on Fridays at 1:30-3:20 pm. If you want to take this course, it is essential that you attend every class, in person. This course will not support online attendance or missed sessions. So, before you sign up, consider your semester and other commitments carefully. If you are the type of student who usually attends class sporadically, this is not the course for you.
If you are interested in this course, please fill out this survey. Note that although the survey asks about previous research experience, it is not required.
I look forward to seeing you in the Spring!
Dr. Marais
