Position Openings

We have three open positions for fully-funded Ph.D. students in uSMART to start in Fall 2026. Students can obtain their Ph.D. degree from either the Edwardson School of Industrial Engineering or School of Sustainability Engineering & Environmental Engineering.

  • Position 1: Applicant will work in the area of sustainable transportation. The position is partially funded through NSF NRT fellowship. Per NSF requirements, only U.S. citizens, nationals, or legal permanent residents are eligible for this position. 

  • Position 2: Applicant will work in the area of emerging transportation system modeling and optimization.

  • Position 3: Applicant will work in the area of sustainable and resilient supply chain.
