Purdue Mission Selected for NASA CubeSat Launch Initiative

CSLI
Selections for NASA's CubeSat Launch Initiative came from all around the country.
Purdue mission, Signals of Opportunity P-Band Investigation (SNOOPI), has been selected alongside 10 other cubesat missions from around the country for NASA's CubeSat launch initiative.

The initiative supports small satellite projects by providing funding for launch costs. SNOOPI is a technology demonstration mission that will conduct measurements of root-zone soil moisture and snow water content from low Earth orbit using reflected signals from other satellites. The principal investigator for the mission is AAE Professor James Garrison. SFPL will be collaborating with Professor Garrison's group to provide mission design and science operations at Purdue. Additional information about the selection can be found here.
