1. Class 3, cr. 3 Prerequisites: CE 352, CE 353. Authorized equivalent courses or consent of
instructor may be used in satisfying course pre-requisites. Fundamental concepts and
design procedures for the treatment of municipal and industrial water and
wastewaters. Problem assessment; determination of water and
wastewater characteristics, biological, physical,
and chemical treatment methods, process design, and disposal of residues. To: CE
456 Water and Wastewater Treatment Sem.
1. Class 3, cr. 3 Prerequisites: CE 350 or equivalent with consent of
instructor. Fundamental
concepts and design procedures for the treatment of municipal
and industrial water and wastewaters. Problem assessment; determination of water and
wastewater characteristics, biological, physical,
and chemical treatment methods, process design, and disposal of residues. Reason: CE 350 provides sufficient technical
background for students to take CE 456, which is a senior-level design
class. This modification will enable more civil engineering
undergraduates to include this important infrastructure design class in
