ECE 470         Curricular Practical Training

Sem: Fall, Spring and Summer. Class: 0; Credit: 0.

Prerequisite:  Departmental Approval.

An electrical and/or computer engineering work experience.  This internship experience is intended to complement the student’s academic plan-of-study and help prepare him/her for his/her future role as a practicing engineer.  A letter from the prospective employer stating the period of employment, hours per week, job title, job qualifications, and job minimum period of employment is required.  This course may not be taken in successive semesters.

Reason:          This course allows for a student's approved electrical and/or computer engineering internship work experience to be recognized on the student's transcript. Enrollment in the course is required for international students seeking Curricular Practical Training and allows all students to retain their full time student status while on the internship during a fall or spring semester. This course was offered as an Electrical Engineering Projects course as ECE 496I in the semesters of Spring 2006, Summer 2006, and Fall 2006 with enrollments of 2, 17, and 1 student(s), respectively.
