New Course: ABE 592. Special Topics IIEngineering Faculty Document No. 30-03 January, 2004 TO: Engineering Faculty FROM: The Faculty of Agricultural and Biological Engineering RE: New Course The faculty of the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering has approved the following new course. This action is now submitted to the Engineering Faculty with a recommendation for approval. ABE 592 – Special
Topics II Sem. 1, 2 & SS, Class: Arrange hours, Credit: 1-4, may be repeated for credit. Prerequisite: Consent of instructor. Special topics in agricultural and biological engineering for which no specific course is offered. May be repeated for credit as long as the topic is not repeated. Reasons: The class is primarily designed for areas where there is no specific course, workshop, or individual study plan. In addition, the number of classes being offered by the department are increasing, which has caused an increasing problem regarding having enough suffix letters available to handle the course load offered under the ABE 591 number. Industry and businesses are becoming increasingly interested in students receiving additional training in specific areas that may not have a regularly scheduled class. Textbook and/or other
required material: Varies with the
subject matter being taught. The course learning objectives will vary with the specific subject matter being offered, but the overlying objective is to provide current, state-of-the-art, intensive training for students to prepare them for working in a dynamic industrial or business setting.
