Class 2. cr. 2. Introduction to the fundamentals of industrial
engineering analysis and design. Topics
include application of principles of mathematics and the physical sciences to
problems in operations research, systems analysis, manufacturing processes,
human factors, and production engineering and management. Intended only for students in engineering
during the freshman year. IE 270 Manufacturing
Materials and Processes Sem.1 and 2.
Class 2. cr. 2. Prerequisite: CHM 101 or equivalent. Study of the
production, structure, and properties of common manufacturing materials. Materials selection and treatment. Introduction to principal manufacturing
processes such as casting, forming, machining, and welding. Materials and manufacturing processes
interrelationships. Classroom and
laboratory demonstrations of materials analysis, testing, and processing. IE 366 Elements of
Production Management Sem.1 and 2.
Class 3. cr. 3 (el OLS) (Not
available for credit to IE students) Introductory
course in production management, with emphasis on plant layout, work methods
and measurement, production planning and control, materials handling, and cost
and quality control. Staff REASON: These courses are no longer
