Subject: Change in Prerequisites for CHE 496

 

The Faculty of the School of Chemical Engineering has approved the change in prerequisites for the course listed below. This action is now submitted to the Faculty of the Schools of Engineering with the recommendation for approval.

 

PRESENT:

496 Chemical Engineering Honors Laboratory Sem. 1. Class 1, lab. 6, cr. 3 (7 CHE). Prerequisite: CHE 377 and honors classification; prerequisite or corequisite:
CHE 306, 348, and 378.

Quantitative experimental study of fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, chemical kinetics, and reactions. Design of experimental studies. Comparison of experimental results with theory. Development of new experiments. Library work. Strong emphasis on report writing and oral communication.

 

 

PROPOSED:

496 Chemical Engineering Honors Laboratory Sem. 1. Class 1, lab. 6, cr. 3 (7 CHE). Prerequisite: CHE 348, CHE 378 and honors classification; prerequisite or corequisite:
CHE 306.
