Subject: Change in Prerequisite for CHE 434

 

The Faculty of the School of Chemical Engineering has approved the change in prerequisites for the course listed below. This action is now submitted to the Faculty of the Schools of Engineering with the recommendation for approval.

 

PRESENT:

434 Chemical Engineering Laboratory I Sem. 1. Class 1, lab. 6, cr. 3 (7 CHE). Prerequisite: CHE 320, 377; COM 114; ENGL 101; prerequisite or corequisite: CHE 378.

Quantitative experimental study of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat and mass transfer; operation and evaluation of equipment; application of methods of data analysis in practice; use of computers in controlling and simulating experiments; strong emphasis on report writing and oral communication.

 

 

PROPOSED:

434 Chemical Engineering Laboratory I Sem. 1. Class 1, lab. 6, cr. 3 (7 CHE). Prerequisite: CHE 320, 378 and COM 114, ENGL 101 or equivalents.

Reason: The material covered in CHE 378 is essential for CHE 434.
