Strategic Growth

Four years ago, Purdue Engineering launched its Strategic Growth Initiative as a responsible, forward-thinking response to two key factors: a steadily rising number of student applications and the President’s national call for educating 10,000 additional engineers per year to tackle the world’s grand challenges.

Dovetailing neatly with the Purdue Moves efforts, our Strategic Growth Initiative is an ambitious blueprint for expanding the College. Today, thanks in good measure to your support, we have reimagined and improved core facilities, hired new world-class faculty, and increased scholarship opportunities for our burgeoning — and ever more diverse — student body.

In the following pages, we provide data points detailing our growth, and we showcase just a few of the individuals who have made the expansion of our College possible.

And, thanks to your help, in the spring of 2016 Purdue University graduated more than five percent of those 10,000 new engineers.
