For Peter Kraemer, brewing beer is in the blood. A fifth-generation brewmaster, Kraemer studied chemical engineering at Purdue, where he learned problem solving and management skills that he still uses.

After graduation, he held apprenticeships at renowned breweries in Germany before returning to the United States to work in various leadership positions at Anheuser-Busch InBev. After 30 years of experience, Kraemer’s current position is chief supply officer, overseeing 150 breweries, 25 verticalized operations, logistics and research, and development across four continents in 25 countries.

He is recognized for his outstanding leadership, career achievements, operational insight and preparedness in changing the worldwide landscape of the brewing industry.

As a member of the school’s Industrial Advisory Council for 20 years and recently an invited Old Master, Kraemer thinks it is important that Purdue continues to provide the world with great engineers and other graduates.

“My advice for students is to follow a passion. If you do something you enjoy, you’ll be good at it,” he says.
