[11/21/2022]: Dr. Haifeng Wang, Jie Tao and Utsav Jain represented CEPL in the APS 75th Annual Meeting of the Division of Fluid Dynamics (DFD). Dr. Haifeng Wang was the organizer and also the session chair for "Reacting flow: Combustion Kinetics and Modeling". Jie Tao and Utsav Jain volunteered and also presented their Ph.D. research in the conference.

[11/12/2021]: Utsav Jain received the 2021 Major General Herbert A. Lyon Scholarship for his achievements in academics and research in the field of aerospace propulsion. The scholarship was established by Barbara Lyon Bennett in honor of Major General Lyon, who earned his master’s in aeronautical engineering from Purdue in 1952.

[05/25/2021]: Tianfang Xie presented in the 12th U.S. National Combustion Meeting. His presentation was under the session of "Turbulent Combustion" titled "Representativity of Differential Molecular Diffusion by Laminar Flamelet for Turbulent Non-premixed Combustion Modeling".
[01/26/2021]: Research work done at CEPL was represented by Dr. Haifeng Wang at the 38th International Symposium on Combustion. The title of his talk was "A priori analysis of a power-law mixing model for transported PDF model based on high Karlovitz turbulent premixed DNS flames". He was also the chair of the sessions on 'Turbulent Flames'.
[01/15/2021]: A journal paper, authored by Dr. Haifeng Wang, was published in the Physics of Fluid. The title of the paper is "Fully Consistent Eulerian Monte Carlo Fields Method for Solving Probability Density Function Transport Equations in Turbulence Modeling". Congratulations!

[11/23/2020]: The research conducted at CEPL was presented at the 73rd Annual American Physics Society's Division of Fluid Dynamics conference. Presentations were given by Dr. Haifeng Wang, Dr. Jinlong Liu, Utsav Jain, Jie Tao and Abhinand Ayyaswamy along with our FM Global collaborators Dr. Ning Ren and Dr. Yi Wang. [10/20/2020]: The contributions of CEPL were showcased in a blog post written by Dr. Haifeng Wang for the Purdue College of Engineering. It is titled as 'Virtualizing combustion to cut aircraft engine emissions' and talks about the current and the future research goals of the group in order to help meet the stringent engine emission regulations.
[10/13/2020]: Dr. Haifeng Wang gave a talk during the event 'Celebrating Our Associate Professors' demonstrating his thoughts on aspects of teaching/learning, research and/or engagement activities.
[10/06/2020]: A paper authored by Dr. Tejas Pant is accepted by the Journal of Computational Physics. The paper is titled "Transported PDF Modeling of Compressible Turbulent Reactive Flows by using the Eulerian Monte Carlo Fields Method" and is co-authored by Utsav Jain and Dr. Haifeng Wang.

[06/05/2020]: A paper authored by Dr. Pei Zhang is accepted by the Proceedings of the Combustion Institute. [04/02/2020]: Purdue University's Board of Trustees approved the promotion of Dr. Haifeng Wang to Associate Professor in the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Congratulations for the promotion! More information is available here.

[09/05/2019]: A grant proposal titled "Hierarchically Informed Engineering Models for Predictive Modeling of Turbulent Premixed Flame Propagation in Pre-Chamber Turbulent Jet Ignition" has been selected by Department of Energy for an award. The principle investigator of the project is Prof. Haifeng Wang from Purdue CEPL and the co-investigator is Dr. Riccardo Scarcelli of Argonne National Lab. The project will focus on the development of next-generation predictive CFD models for turbulent jet ignition.
