Position on Data-driven Combustion Modeling at Purdue University

Overview:
The
Computational Energy and Propulsion Lab (CEPL) in the School of Aeronautics and
Astronautics at Purdue University invites applications for a postdoc position
to work on data-driven combustion modeling. The main responsibility is to
improve an in-house CFD modeling code and to perform high-fidelity parallel
simulations of a laboratory-scale combustion rig. The position is available for
one year. The position can start as soon as possible and no later than January
2024.
Qualification:
Individuals
with expertise in turbulent and reacting flow simulations are encouraged to
apply. All candidates must have strong, demonstrated research capability, be a
good team player, excellent English written and spoken communication skills,
and a Ph.D. in a relevant field (including but not limited to mechanical
engineering, chemical engineering, and aerospace engineering), completed within
the last three years or soon to be completed.
Highly
qualified candidates are sought with the following expertise:
o
Expertise
in CFD modeling of turbulent reactive flows with RANS, LES
or DNS.
o
Advanced
computer programming skills in FORTRAN and/or C/C++ and MPI parallelization.
o
Knowledge
of machine learning and data-driven modeling is a plus.
