Congratulations to the SAZER Speculum Senior Design team for winning the Best Project Award 2021!

The SAZER team was tasked with redesigning the speculum, a device used in pelvic exams for women. Existing speculums are a huge source of discomfort for patients, which in turn discourages them from getting routine check-ups. The SAZER Vaginal Speculum addresses some of these pain points through its novel features. These include a tri-valvular, conical design with tip circumference equal to that of a tampon, transparent bills to allow for vaginal wall visualization, quiet locking, an angled handle, and a variety of bill sizes to accommodate all types of women. The SAZER team is currently pursuing Intellectual Property rights for their design.
