Lake and River Enhancement Program Overview
Aired: July 9, 2014 from noon to 1pm Eastern An overview of the various components of the Lake and River Enhancement (LARE) Program of the Division of Fish and Wildlife, Indiana Department of Natural Resources presented by Gregory L. Biberdorf, LARE Program Manager. This summary will include information about sediment removal, logjam removal, watershed land treatment, biological, construction, engineering, and invasive aquatic vegetation management projects that are funded through LARE Cost-share grants. Discussion on the application process and requirements as well as the timeline of project grants will be touched upon. Meet the Presenter: Greg Biberdorf, Program Manager, Lake & River Enhancement Program, IN Department of Natural Resources Greg started with IDNR as a soil scientist trainee while a student at Purdue in 1975. With a BS in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences and an MS in Agronomy, he has been employed by DNR fulltime since 1979; first in the Division of Soil Conservation, and since 2005 with the Division of Fish and Wildlife. As LARE Program manager, he has a staff of 3 professionals who together manage approximately two million dollars of granted projects annually throughout the state.
