About Harsha Honnappa

I received my PhD from the University of Southern California, where I was advised by Prof. Rahul Jain in the Department of Electrical Engineering, and Prof. Amy R. Ward of the Data Sciences and Operations Department in the Marshall School of Business at USC. In a previous life I worked on Artificial Intelligence systems and Machine Learning at the Information Sciences Institute at USC. Following this, I worked in industry for three years, first at FICO working on statistical analysis and machine learning for credit card and debit card fraud detection as an Analytics Scientist, and then on statistical learning models as a scientist at the Applied Research Group (now defunct) part of Satyam Computer Services Limited and the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. During this period I also collaborated closely with Professor Shalabh Bhatnagar of the Indian Institute of Science on stochastic approximation and reinforcement learning.
