Interns for Indiana has become one of the premier talent partnership programs for Purdue University students connecting to startups and early stage companies in West Lafayette and Indianapolis. Since 2021, over 1,000 students have submitted applications for roles at some of the most innovative and transformational startups building their business in Indiana. Students selected for Interns for Indiana are challenged with complex problems in real-world scenarios and have experiences interacting directly with founders and c-suite leadership.

  • Startups will reach out to students eligible for interviews and eventually provide offers as IFI fellows in spring or summer.
  • Students will work full time (40 hours a week) during the summer for 10-12 weeks.
  • Students must complete all onboarding paperwork and are required to register for ENTR 39699: Interns for Indiana Experience .
  • Students will receive competitive compensation in the IFI program on a biweekly pay schedule and be employed as a fellow of Purdue University.
  • Students are required to secure their own housing during the summer.

The program is open to all undergraduate students with a 2.8 GPA or higher.* Graduate students are not eligible to participate. International students in first-year engineering will not be eligible due to CPT restrictions.
