Innovation for Public Service - Office of Professional Practice - Purdue University

Engineering plays a crucial role in shaping the world we live in, and when directed towards public service programs, it becomes a powerful force for positive change.

The Innovation for Public Service Certificate program is designed to increase the number of engineering graduates entering the public service sector, contributing as technology leaders and innovators. The 15-plus hour certificate is available to students from various STEM majors. This certificate is a collaboration between Purdue University College of Engineering and the NobleReach Foundation.

1. Enroll in ENGR 10301 (Innovation for Public Service), a one-credit hour orientation seminar offered in the spring semester.
2.  Complete six credit hours in any combination of experiential learning, such as internships, co-ops and research in areas relevant to public service.
3. Complete at least nine credit hours of courses selected from the humanities, social sciences, policy area and the technical area, with at least one course in each area.
