Pre-event Programming

Registrants will receive information on how to access on-demand videos, presentations, handouts, and other resources prior to the live event. On-demand content is expected to go live approximately one week prior to the event.

2023 Featured Keynote

Don't miss the opening session featuring keynote presenter Dr. Aaron Kyle who will be presenting on: Take Your TA-ing Seriously, It Could Shape Your Career.

Dr. Aaron Kyle is a Professor of the Practice in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Duke University. Kyle teaches first year design, medical device instrumentation, and capstone design courses. Kyle is passionate about engendering engineering identity in Grades 6 – 12 students, particularly those from underrepresented minority groups or disadvantaged backgrounds. He leads the Outreach Design Education (ODE) Program, which focuses on enhancing STEM identity in younger students through engineering design education. Over 1000 students in New York and North Carolina have been introduced to engineering design through ODE-associated pre-college programs and courses.

Kyle received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Kettering University and his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Purdue University. He is a member of Eta Kappa Nu and Tau Beta Pi engineering honor societies. He gave the Diversity Award Plenary Lecture at the 2020 BMES Annual Meeting and is a Fellow of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering and BMES. He is a member-elect of the BMES Board of Directors.
