We are so proud of our A. James & Alice B. Clark Foundation Scholar Jimmy Sek for his amazing Keynote Speech at the College of Engineering's 125th Anniversary. It was personal, inspiring, and a testament to Jimmy as a trailblazer, one of the many trailblazing students that come from our program! You can find a video of the speech below - please take the time to give it a watch! #clarkscholars #speechmakers #futureleaders
On February 24th, 2023, I had the honor to be a part of the College of Engineering's 125th Anniversary. As the Student Keynote Speaker, I had the opportunity to give my Penn State Story and what it means to be a part of the Penn State Clark Scholars Program in front of hundreds of students, faculties, and donors. At first, I was hesitant to accept this opportunity because I never gave a speech before in front of a huge distinguished crowd. However, thanks to the support of Lauren Griggs, PhD, she gave me the confidence I needed. In my speech, I talk about my journey toward Penn State, how I became a Clark Scholar, and my family for being my main "why". Thank you to Michelle Schafer, Lisa Spicer, and the Penn State College of Engineering for offering and trusting me in my deliverance. I hope my speech inspires other people to pursue their dreams as well. #pennstate #engineering #speech #thankyou

6moThank you so much for hosting us. I want to say that Purdue has been exceptional in how they have treated us. Every single person I have spoken to from Purdue has been nothing but supportive from faculty, administrators, staff, graduate students, everyone. I aspire to be that for others. Thank you, truly.
