Our recent manuscript with Prof. Kingsly Ambrose published in Advanced Powder Technology: https://lnkd.in/dAG27hmS Synopsis: Addressing critical concerns from suspended particles, particularly dust, is paramount in safeguarding human respiratory health and preventing industrial explosions in processing facilities. Industries such as Agriculture, Food, and wood processing are highly susceptible to such incidents. Our latest research delves into innovative techniques for real-time measurement of suspended dust concentrations. Our approach leverages changes in light intensity or light extinction coefficient at the camera sensor using the haze image formation model. We created a database of mass extinction efficiency values needed in developing an early warning system for industrial dust explosions based on convolutional neural networks (CNN). I had the pleasure of attending the MANRRS37 conference in Atlanta, GA from April 12th to April 16th, 2023 and I must say that it was an exceptional experience. The theme of the conference, "Collaborate, Cultivate and Motivate," was thought-provoking and inspiring. The keynote speakers delivered impactful speeches that left us all motivated to do more in our respective fields. As a researcher, it was a great opportunity for me to present my work and receive valuable feedback from experts in my field. The conference also provided ample opportunities to socialize and network with like-minded professionals from various industries.
