Course description:

You will learn
the Shannon capacity theorem, in a very succinct way;
·
The difference
between different types of decoder, ML, MAP, min-distance, etc.;
·
Several important
algebraic codes: Hamming codes, Reed Muller Codes; BCH codes
·
Convolutional
codes, Viterbi decoders, and BCJR decoders;
·
LDPC codes and
the corresponding message passing decoders.
