First-year engineering is the launchpad for all engineering students at Purdue.
Establishing the basics is a crucial first step toward success. That's why the College of Engineering established and continues to innovate the first-year engineering (FYE) experience to allow our engineering students to cultivate a strong foundation on which to achieve their vision and make their mark on the world.
Each pathway through FYE provides students with time and resources to explore engineering disciplines and advises students to follow educational paths that spark interest. FYE trains, tests and challenges students, encouraging them to identify strengths, redirect weaknesses and practice resiliency, setting them on course to go beyond what they thought was possible.
