Bio
Naoya Kumagai is a PhD student in the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics at Purdue University. He received his B.S. in Applied Mathematics from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2022 and his M.S. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Purdue University in 2024. His current research focuses on stochastic optimal control theory and its applications to robust control of spacecraft, and is working as a Research Assistant for the AFOSR-funded CHANCE project. He was a visiting researcher at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in 2024 and an intern in the GNC team at ispace inc in 2025. Outside of the lab, he likes to play tennis, swim, hike, and cook.
