Greg Winer - Office of Professional Practice - Purdue University

Winer has had an elaborate career with Chicago area-based Sun Chemical Corporation. He was placed into the Pprocess and Project Engineering Group, mentoring to be a process engineer and a project manager. During that time, he reorganized and elevated the existing one-person student co-op program into the six-person crew it is today. His management of the program was crucial for both the co-op students and Sun Chemical; the co-op program became the opportunity for them to be “unleashed” into young engineers. He is personally responsible for hiring and mentoring over 40 chemical and mechanical engineering co-op students over the last 22 years, making the co-op program an integral part of Sun Chemical engineering team.

In 2012, he was promoted to the overall Engineering Group Manager for North American Inks, leading a team of 16 engineers and co-op students. Winer’s centralized engineering group currently handles projects all over the U.S., Canada and Mexico, directly supporting the global operations.
