Cindy Farrer - Office of Professional Practice - Purdue University

Farrer currently serves as the vice president of Americas Operations for Allegion, overseeing all manufacturing plants and supply chain activities in North and South America.

She began her career with General Motors as an industrial engineer and advanced her way through the company and its subsidiary Delphi. She eventually became plant manager for a four-plant Delphi operation in Mexico and one of only a handful of women running manufacturing plants in the country at the time. In 2006, Farrer joined Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies (now Allegion) as director of global quality and operational excellence.

Farrer received the Women in Manufacturing STEP Award in 2013, the Shingo Prize for Manufacturing Excellence and the Donald J. Almquist Award for Extraordinary Accomplishment. She is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and is active in the Society of Women Engineers and the Allegion Community Relations Board.

Purdue experience

Was a co-op with General Motors. Launched a cost-reduction initiative called SCRAP that became an ongoing program across her GM division.
