Jan Olek is a Professor of Civil Engineering and the Director of the North Central Superpave Center. He received an M.S. degree from Krakow Technical University, Poland, in 1978, an M.S. degree from the University of Texas-Austin in 1985, and his Ph.D. from Purdue University in 1987. He is a registered professional engineer in Indiana. He is serving on Transportation Research Board (TRB), American Concrete Institute (ACI) committees and other academic (university) committees.

His areas of interest include properties of construction materials, use of reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP), pavement noise-issues, pavement surface friction characteristics, Superpave technology, low-temperature behavior of asphalt, properties and durability of high performance concretes and structures, etc.

Ayesha Shah is the Research Engineer for the North Central Superpave Center. She received her Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Purdue University. Her area of specialization is bituminous pavements materials. Shah holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Andhra University in Visakhapatnam, India and a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from Iowa State University at Ames, Iowa.

She has been a Teaching Assistant for undergraduate Civil Engineering courses in soil mechanics, mechanics of materials and construction materials courses. Shah also has been a Research Assistant at the School of Civil Engineering while working on her doctoral thesis, investigating the influence of field aging on the long-term performance of asphalt concrete pavements in Indiana. She is currently involved in various research projects at the North Central Superpave Center involving the use of Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP), Noise and Surface Friction Characteristics, Long-Term Performance of SPS9-A site, dynamic modulus testing, etc. She is a member of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) and American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM).
