(1) Nanoscale thermal radiation, photonics, heat conduction, and energy conversion;

(2) Multiscale simulations of materials, including first principles calculations, molecular dynamics simulations, Monte-Carlo simulations, Boltzmann transport theory, etc;

(3) Synthesis of nanomaterials and devices

(4) Characterization of nanomaterials, such as SEM, TEM, XRD, Raman, absorption spectra, emission spectra, etc.

Interested applicants please contact Dr. Ruan with a resume.

Undergraduate student positions:

(1) ME 497: Undergraduate students are welcome to take ME 497 with our lab to gain research experience. Detailed information of current projects in our lab can be found at: http://engineering.purdue.edu/nanoenergy/.

(2) SURF: We have at least two SURF (Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship) positions available each summer, and priorities will be given to undergraduate students who have taken ME 497 with our lab.
