Intelligent Manufacturing Laboratory houses
the facilities to conduct research pertaining to intelligent optimization, control and monitoring of
various manufacturing processes. In particular, the CNC machining center
shown in the left provides a testbed for validating machining simulation models
and implementing various monitoring and control schemes through a PC-based
open architecture controller. The Laboratory is equipped with excellent
computing facilities and various instruments, and NUM CNCs and Siemens PLCs are used for manufacturing
courses being offered.
