Background Information

(12th Graders)

Purdue's Recruitment OMulti-Ethnic Students Interested in the Schools of Engineering (PROMISE) is targeted at talented seniors to provide all of the information you need on what Purdue's College of Engineering offers with an experience on Purdue's campus.  From tours, presentations, workshops, classroom visits, lab demonstrations and projects, PROMISE offers a glimpse into the possibilities of your academic future at Purdue.

The Minority Engineering Program is excited to offer two methods to participate in PROMISE this year. Our original PROMISE, October 27-28, 2013,  is a two-day program providing information on admission and financial aid procedures, the freshman engineering curriculum, the cooperative education program, summer internship opportunities, and engineering student organizations. Other activities include a hands-on engineering project, visits to actual classes accompanied by Purdue students, a campus tour, social events, and the opportunity to meet practicing engineers, engineering students, faculty, and staff.

Our new PROMISE "mini" is a one day program in conjunction with three Fall Preview Days hosted by Purdue Admissions. These events will take place on October 11, 18, and 25. Time will be split between the standard Fall Preview Days schedule and MEP programming that will help you learn more about what we do, meet current students, and learn how you can help pay for your education at Purdue. Go to the bottom of the page to enroll.

Both programs will reveal how Purdue can work for your educational and career goals.  And, at the end of the program, you will have a head start on your application to Purdue.
