PUR-1 Nuclear Reactor - The Purdue University Reactor Number One (PUR-1) is the first and only nuclear reactor operating in Indiana. It is the first and only US NRC facility to be licensed for a fully digital safety and control system. The primary mission of the facility is to teach and train the next generation of Nuclear Engineers. In addition to its educational uses, the reactor acts as a neutron source for activation analysis to support other departments including engineering, health science, chemistry, pharmacy, agriculture, biology, and nanotechnology.

Wang Hall - Wang Hall houses the research laboratories of the ECE Schweitzer Power and Energy Systems area. This state-of-the-art facility supports the work of faculty in the areas of rotating electric machinery, power magnetics, power electronics, and power systems. Highlights of this tour include the Grainger Energy Conversion and Microgrid laboratory, the Grainger Power Magnetics Fabrication Laboratory, and the Electric Vehicle Systems Laboratory, where you will see an innovative 220-kW three-phase dynamic wireless power transfer system designed for heavy-duty trucks.

Birck Nanotechnology Center - Purdue University's Birck Nanotechnology Center, providing a research home to 300+ residents, is a world-class open access research facility. Birck on the leading edge of research into new technologies involving materials and structures at the atomic scale. For nearly two decades, Birck has served as a vital contributor in U.S. advances regarding nanotech.

Bowen Laboratory - The Robert L. and Terry L. Bowen Laboratory for Large-Scale Civil Engineering Research provides the space and technical capability needed to investigate the behavior of large structural models and elements subjected to loads representing extreme events, such as earthquakes, blasts, and impact, so that future structures will be designed to better withstand these extreme events. The lab's "strong floor," clear ceiling height of 54 feet, loading apparatus, and advanced instrumentation set a new standard for materials and structures testing.
