Description: Motorsports at Purdue is a fully undergraduate student-run team that balances engineering opportunities, professional career outreach and competitive racing into one package. The EV Karting department was the first of Purdue entries to design, manufacture and build a custom battery pack to compete in the Purdue 2022 EV Grand Prix — a program that is rapidly expanding and one MAP continues to compete in. Additionally, the MAP Gas Karting and Engine Development department competes in approximately five races annually, including the spring Purdue Grand Prix. Both programs work together to host weekly workshops for MAP members with a wide variety of focuses. These include but are not limited to visits from industry speakers, hands-on learning opportunities of karting components and understanding EV battery pack principles.
