Medical writing is a broad field that involves developing documents that deal with healthcare, medicine, drugs/medical devices, and/or disease states. Medical writers work on a range of different documents including manuscripts, clinical study protocols and reports, and continuing medical education content. Whitsell Innovations, Inc. (WI) specializes in medical writing, quality control review, and electronic regulatory submissions. Since 2006, we have supported global pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device clients with excellence in regulatory writing, publications, and safety documentation. Headquartered in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, our staff spans all US time zones and is composed of individuals with industry backgrounds and scientific educations, most with advanced degrees. The WI internship is a paid, 100% remote position requiring a minimum 10-hour commitment per week for up to 18 months. Our ideal candidates are terminal degree holders (PhD, MD, DVM, PharmD, etc) who are considering transitioning from their postdoctoral position into a career in industry; however, all applicants with an appropriate scientific background will be considered. A passion for science, writing talent, a strong work ethic, a desire to learn about written communication in a regulated environment, and self discipline in a remote environment are prerequisites for our program.
