The Schmidt Science Fellowship is a globally competitive, year-long postdoctoral position, and a great opportunity that comes with a generous $100,000 stipend. Applicants must be graduating with their PhD from Purdue in any engineering discipline between June 1, 2022, and July 30, 2023.

 

Interested and qualified candidates must complete a short College of Engineering application (details below) by Wednesday, April 20th at 5:00pm to be considered as one of two Purdue College of Engineering nominees that will be forwarded to the Graduate School. If selected by the College, nominees will need to submit preliminary application materials to the Schmidt Science Fellowship program by June 1, 2022, and a full application by July 18, 2022.

Submit the following to Stephen McBride (mcbrid44@purdue.edu) by Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at 5:00pm:

  • 1-page statement from the student detailing their fit and interest in the Schmidt Science Fellowship program, and why they should be selected as the College of Engineering nominee
  • Include nominee's name, email, and graduation date at the top of this statement document
  • Current CV of the student tailored to the Schmidt Science Fellowship including the applicant’s academic, research, and extra-curricular/leadership experiences and achievements
  • Excellent nominees will meet each of the six review criteria listed at the bottom of the attached document.
