IEEE ETHICS-2023 will draw together the global community of technology and ethics practitioners and theoreticians from industry, academia, government, and civil society. Issues will be explored from industry, scientific and societal perspectives, in a global and multicultural manner. ETHICS-2023 is a conference of the IEEE Society on Social Implications of Technology (SSIT) (series originally launched in 2014).

ETHICS-2023 is co-sponsored and hosted by the National Institute for Engineering Ethics in the School of Engineering Education at Purdue University, a leading land grant university with top-ranked engineering, technology, and computing programs, and an expansive portfolio of sponsored research and engagements in the ethics and policy realms.

Many of the topics that will be discussed are directly relevant for Field- Specific (FS) RCR training in Engineering. Attendance of any session by Engineering faculty, Post-Docs, and graduate students would count towards the two hour requirement for FS RCR training.

With support from Purdue's Office of Research and College of Engineering, Purdue graduate students can request a complimentary one-day registration (Friday, May 19 or Saturday, May 20). Up to 100 Purdue students will be able to benefit on a first-come, first-served registration basis. To take advantage of this opportunity, students must complete and submit the registration form (see link below). The deadline for student registration is May 5. Note that this one-day registration includes complimentary breakfast, lunch (Friday only), and refreshment/snack breaks on the student selected conference day (i.e., May 19 or May 20). Students using the one-day complimentary registration can attend plenary and parallel sessions, including panels, paper sessions and workshops/tutorials. Participating students will get credit toward their responsible conduct of research field-specific training requirements and will be able to update their own training record in the dedicated online application.
