WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue University's Charles D. Davidson School of Chemical Engineering undergraduate program is ranked No. 14 in the nation in U.S. News & World Report's 2027 Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs rankings. The program keeps the No. 14 spot it held last year.
The ranking matches the Davidson School's graduate program, which U.S. News ranked No. 14 in the nation this spring. The matching rankings place Purdue chemical engineering among the country's leading programs at both levels.
The undergraduate rankings are based on peer assessments from deans and senior faculty at engineering schools across the country. They reflect how chemical engineering leaders nationwide view the program.
"Ranking among the nation's best at both the undergraduate and graduate levels speaks to the strength of our entire program," said David S. Corti, the Jay and Cynthia Ihlenfeld Head of Chemical Engineering. "Our undergraduates learn from faculty who are leaders in their fields, and they graduate ready to solve real problems in energy, health, materials and manufacturing."
Purdue's undergraduate engineering program ranked No. 8 overall for the fourth year in a row and No. 5 among public institutions for the 25th consecutive year. Purdue also ranked No. 6 for co-ops and internships for the second year in a row, which matters for chemical engineering students, many of whom gain industry experience before they graduate.
