Project Description

  • Using partition-function centered approaches to derive analytical microkinetic rate expressions which account for adsorbate-adsorbate interactions for heterogenous catalysis. The focus has been to preserve analytical form of rate laws by taking advantage of applied mathematics strategies such as perturbation theory and asymptotic matching to gain mechanistic insights which may be missed in state-of-the-art stochastic/numerical simulation methods. I have worked on applying this methodology to a variety of surface and site geometries.
  • Utilizing Ab-Initio methods to investigate reaction mechanisms at the metal oxide three phase boundaries for CO-removal in hydrogen fuel cells
